Stay at the Rootseller Inn, a lovely heritage house in the heart of Miner's Bay, Mayne Island.

The Inn

A TWO BEDROOM SUITE ON THE TOP FLOOR IS ALL YOURS

A quiet affordable haven especially for the cyclist, the hiker or for anyone, right here close to the ferry and next door to all services, a park, the beach and all within the tiny village of Miners Bay. Our two room guest suite accommodates one person or four - completely self contained and private. Bike racks in the carport. Wonderful bakery breakfasts next door.

A no fuss, check yourself in and out - laid back place - even a great bookstore on the main floor and you are the only guest. Your hostess in residence is tucked away out of sight. There is a great old pub a block away from us on the ocean for simple food, great views and ambience.

The Rootseller is one of the original B&Bs on Mayne Island - in continuous operation since 1983.

Take your early morning coffee to the park across the street and find the trail to Miner's Bay Beach - it is lovely and tranquil - you may see a seal, a family of otters, deer, and lots of bird life as old man heron keeps an eye out for vagrants. It is his territory, you see.

A Happy Guest

It's so hard these days to make time - weekends bring a fury of events that literally sweep me off my feet and drop me back down Sunday wondering where my supposedly restful weekend went.

I am reminded of the importance of taking time when I arrive here.

I am quiet, ever listening to the call of the water and sky.

Within moments, I feel different. No appointments, no dinner parties, no nothing.

It is refreshing - a wonder for the soul, my soul which feels a little tender, hardworked, and definitely in need of some TLC.

Thanks for giving me a restful weekend. I will be back for more.
