The Ferry: A Different Point of View
A Photography Exhibition By Toby Snelgrove
A Trincomali Community Arts Council Sponsored Event
"Ferries rides to Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen or to other Gulf Islands is endemic to Mayne Island life. After many trips, however, the visual details of the vessels often become invisible to riders. Using digital photography and image processing software, Toby reveals shapes and designs within the ships that are at the same time, functional, beautiful and mysterious."
"His images invite the viewer to see beauty in the benign and to wonder about practical questions such as: "What flows through that pipe?"; "Why is that cable there?"; and, "Is that a skilful weld that holds the vehicle deck together?" — Bill Maylone
Open House 7 - 9 pm
