A: It is illegal to buy or sell deer meat; however, it can be gifted.

Q: Are Fallow Deer friendly?

A: No, they are more timid than the native Black Tail deer and more unpredictable with their behavior especially at rutting season. They travelled in groups and are skittish.

A: Please, do not feed the deer.

A: Currently there are many in Bennett Bay area

Q: I am a certified BC hunter, can I go to Mayne Island to hunt Fallow Deer?

Q: I live in an area where there are a lot of Fallow Deer, what can I do to help?

A:The best thing is to discourage them from coming on to your property. Make loud noises and chase them away...especially if you live in Bennett Bay area. This way they may move to larger areas where they can be hunted.
